Purpose

• The unit standard is for learners who use a computer in a business environment.

Who should do the programme?

• Learners who require end user computing skills in all sectors of the economy, as End User Computing is an essential skill in any business today. This unit standard is designed to accommodate both learners in formal education and learners already employed. It aims to develop informed and skilled learners that can apply the acquired skills in any industry and should contribute towards improved productivity and efficiency in the workplace.

What skill will you learn?/Basic content of programme (Exit Level Outcomes)

• Prepare and product a spreadsheet to provide a solution to a given problem.
• Adjust settings to customize the view and preferences of the spreadsheet application.
• Work with multiple worksheets.
• Apply formulae to worksheets to provide alternative solutions to a problem.
• Apply simple built-in functions of the spreadsheet application to the given problem.
• Apply formatting to a spreadsheet applicable to the given problem.
• Use special effects to improve the presentation of the spreadsheet.
• Evaluate a spreadsheet.
