Strand Campus

Boland College is a public Further Education and Training Institution. The College serves the extensive rural Boland region encompassing the Winelands, Overberg, Breede River Valley, Hex River Valley and Helderberg regions. Boland College comprises five campuses located in Caledon, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Strand and Worcester.

Strand is situated in the Helderberg basin at the foot of the majestic Hottentots-Holland Mountain Range and close to pearly white beaches and crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. In this charming area where calming see and the bustling city meet, lays Boland College’s Strand campus.

Here students can choose between a variety of full-time and part-time programmes and also breathe the exhilarating ocean air in the new state of the art Engineering buildings.

Campus Life

The Student Representative Council is responsible for organising various social events during the year, ranging from potjiekos competitions, the student ball and sport activities to various charity events. They are also responsible for the campus newspaper that appears quarterly and the student life on the campus.

Within all these activities you will find something for everyone on the campus that will not only enrich your own life but give you the opportunity to learn new cultures, make life-long friends and create memories that will never forget.

Sport

A variety of sporting activities is offered at Strand Campus, such as athletics, cricket, rugby, netball, hockey, soccer, tennis and volley ball.  Students compete at the summer and winter Inter-campus Sport Challenges against their fellow Boland College students from other campuses.

Culture

Each Campus’ Student Representative Council members have been assigned to a different portfolio and they co-ordinate a range of social activities on and off campus. Some of these activities include debate evenings, arts evenings, a safety awareness week, and blood donor weeks. Various social responsibility projects are also a major part of the academic year at Boland College’s Strand Campus.

A specific corporate social responsibility project is launched by the winner of the various Mr and Miss Campus events. During the year the students are given the chance to showcase their talents in poetry, dance, song and music which culminates into the main cultural evening. This gives the top performers of the campuses the opportunity to show their peers who in Boland College has the true talent.
