Counselling

These sessions are private and confidential and there to assist students facing any form of problem or crises. Student Support also have various workshops and seminars through out the year.

Academic development

The Student Support Department also helps students to improve their academic performance by assistance with study methods, exam preparation and time management.

Services for disabled or special needs students
Boland College Stellenbosch Campus is equipped with the necessary technology and equipment to assist students with disabilities. Further information about disability services contact any Student Supporter. Boland College supports students with disabilities in accordance with the applicable policy.

Career guidance and job placement

Student Supporters can assist you with the right resources to give you a jump start on your career path by assisting you with career guidance, CV writing, interview and job-hunting skills.

Social and Cultural Services

The SRC of each campus co-ordinate social and cultural activities on campuses as well as the student newsletter

Health Education and Related Services

The SRC is responsible for Health weeks on campus. Workshop and information sessions on topics e.g. HIV/AIDS, sex and sexuality and substance abuse.

SRC, together with the Mr. and Miss Boland College Winners are also responsible for Community projects.

OLC – Open Learning Centres

Each campus has an OLC to assist students with access to resources such as computers, internet access and reading material.

Financial Aid Services

The provision of financial aid to students should have a fourfold aim and is covered by the following objectives:

  • To recruit top students to the College
  • To promote and reward academic excellence at the College
  • To enable students who are both financially needy and academically deserving to gain access to the college.
  • To provide a holistic "basket of financial support" which can assist in eliminating barriers to success by covering the "total cost" of study to the student, including costs such as transport and accommodation.

Students may apply for a transport bursary, but transport remains the student's responsibility.
