What time do the classes start?

It depends on the course that you follow. A timetable is available at the administration office.

What is the cost of the courses?

It depends on the course that you want to follow. A cost structure is available at the financial officer.

What is the difference between a level and a certificate?

For the level courses the minimum requirement is grade 9 or 10. It is a three year course and it aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge of the workplace. This will then empower them to make a positive contribution to the country's economy, productivity and the development of new technology.

For the certificate the student needs a grade 12. This is a two year course and it aims to equip learners with the necessary skills required for elementary employment in different industries.

What is the language of tuition?

Classes are presented in both Afrikaans and English. The College endeavours to have all examination papers for major tests and examinations available in both English and Afrikaans. Some resource materials are only available in Afrikaans and others only in English.

Do the student have to do practical?

Students obtain a document from the College, which has to be submitted to employers. It is the learner's responsibility to find suitable employment. The necessary information must be given to the program head / lecturer concerned who will confirm the employment. Practical work experience is compulsory and may be done at suitable, local businesses. Certificate students must complete 60 days of practical work during their two years of study.

Can I apply for a National Diploma?

Yes you can apply. You must have finished your N6 certificate issued by the Department of Education and on submission of proof of 18 months or 2 000 hours of suitable experience in the industry you can apply through Boland College for the Diploma.
