Grade 12’s gets a second chance at Boland College
Written by Ivan Swart
In the beginning of this year the Innovation and Development department of Boland College in co-operation with the Health and Wellness Seta (H&W Seta) gave last year’s Mathematics and Physical Science pupils the opportunity to improve their Maths and Physical Science marks.
During this programme we took 3 Mathematics and 2 Physical Science groups and gave them the opportunity to better their marks in the supplementary exams that will be written during 2010 in order to give these students the chance to apply at various institutions to further their education and training.
The mathematics groups were facilitated and conducted by Carol le Roux and Melanie Christie while the physical science groups were facilitated by Aletta Wessels and Sandri du Plessis that gave physics and Isabeth Conradie who facilitated the chemistry for both groups. All of these facilitators are experienced in the field of maths and science.
These facilitators gave these groups of students a new dream to dream and a chance to reach their dreams to such an extent that some of the students would like to continue studying their educations in programmes that needed maths and sciences.
