As part of the commitment of Boland College’s Student Representative Council to assist the College to become an even more deeply routed Corporate Citizen, they launch various activities throughout the year. These initiatives are not only done by one group, but is integrated with all other initiatives such as the Community Projects driven by the Mr and Miss Boland College finalists.
One such event was the CANSA Shavathon. Armed with enthusiasm, staff and students of the Paarl Hostel, Huis Bruwer, set off to the local mall and started shaving, spraying and collecting money, lead by Residence Head, Riel Stofberg. “We are not sure who enjoyed it more, the students or staff”, said San-Mari Gillespie, Student Support Officer, “but enjoyed it we did.”
All proceeds were given to CANSA for the fight against Cancer.
