The Campus Student Council

A Campus Student Council can consist of a minimum of four and a maximum of ten elected members from that Campus. The number of students per Campus will be a determining factor when finalizing the number of student council members. Every Campus Student Council must have a chairperson, deputy chairperson, treasurer and secretary.

Possible portfolios for other members can be: academics, community service, sport, art and culture, policy implementation, public liaison / communication / marketing function, hostel representation and social functions.

Requirements for candidates:

Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible:

• continual class attendance of 80% in every subject
• have a cumulative year mark equivalent to the minimum pass percentage per subject at the time of the election
• have a good conduct record
• be enrolled for a full qualification
• follow a full time programme

Ad hoc cases will be considered by the Election Committee. Minimum criteria for coping with exceptions must be determined by the Election Committee on the relative Campus.
